I worked in cabinet shop in Montana and that was my introduction to hand and power tools.  That was 1990.  I bought tools for my own arsenal based on what I saw and experienced.  My old tools consist of Porter Cable, Milwaukee  Makita, Between routers, jig saws circular saws drills etc, I have noticed a significant drop in quality and an increase in cost.  99% of those tools are still completely functional and serve me well.  However, tools I have purchased from Lowe's over the past couple of years have FAILED drastically, burn out burn up.  To date my Harbor freight or Wood Workers Supply Catalog tools are out lasting brand names for less than half the cost.  Tools, my suggestion is buy yard sale or pawn shop.  The saw mill, was a $2000.00 purchase, The framing package alone for the house was 7,000 not to mention the sheeting, sub-floor and finished floor and siding etc

Starting the inside

While I worked for Lowe's, I collected all kinds of lights, lamps, shower stalls, counter tops, fixtures, etc.  I could finish the house with conventional theme/ style, but I want to show off my creativity.  The toilet and shower/ tub are conventional and fiber glass, but the bath room vanities and kitchen are going to be what I like to call it "Cottage Chic"

Cheryl's Vanity
inch thick pine slab, 22-25 inches wide 65 inches long.  The bowl is made from a butt cut log and hollowed out with the table saw.  I got the fixture when I bought three carts of fixtures for 5.00

Trash to cash

Legs came from the steel frame of an RV I parted out

Door and ash tray were cut from the front and remounted,  The door with hand forged hinges
The ash pan came from a chunk of the old fuel tank from the dump truck, the tank leaked
I bent the stack mount out of some old scrap piece I had in a pile

Compressor rested on the flat platform that super sized with a piece of plate.
The top is 20 inches wide and 24 inches deep
I am going to put it in the house for aux heat

Christmas Day, Arthur is firing his bow for the first time

This bow came from an oak log a local tree service dropped off,  Along with couple of bow blanks I cut a dozen 2 inch slabs 7 feet long

While attending an Indian pow wow in Macon Arthur decided he wanted a bow. 

 There was a vendor making them in a traditional way.  We watched for about an hour.  This is my third attempt.  I have yet to determine the poundage

Cheryl's treasure chest

This is a log that I hollowed out using a chain saw and fire, adding handmade hinges and a handle out of saw blades
The chest is 4 1/2 feet long with an inside width of about 16 inches, started out as play time for me but when Cheryl saw what I was doing she wanted it
